common sense results.

As a small business owner, Jeff Longbine has relied on common sense and Kansas values to carry on the family’s fourth-generation auto dealership. As our State Senator, Jeff takes those same values to Topeka – working to restore Kansas common sense and get our state back to basics. Some of the results Jeff has been able to help achieve include:

  • Backed a plan to prohibit appraisals from triggering automatic property tax hikes

  • Voted to reduce the sales tax on groceries

  • Demanded more oversight of state spending so we can keep closer tabs on our tax dollars

  • Funded our schools and resolved the legal battle that had created uncertainty for decades

  • Passed the Kansas Transparency Act, requiring government to live-stream hearings

  • Targeted funding for core services – our schools, mental health and foster care reform

  • Blocked attempts to kick the can down the road and increase state debt

  • Fought successfully for tax fairness, putting a stop to the tax loopholes that had allowed wealthy corporations to skirt paying taxes while our families picked up their tab

PRIORITIES FOR OUR FUTURE.

As our state works to rebound from the pandemic, Jeff is continuing his focus on common sense results for our families and small businesses, including:

  • Continuing the fight to lower the sales tax on groceries

  • Addressing the impact of property taxes on our families

  • Identifying ways to make higher education more affordable for our kids

  • Cracking down on fraud and abuse in the system

  • Ensuring adequate resources for community mental health services

  • Email Jeff with issues or concerns that you think the Legislature needs to address
